DESCRIPTION:Hassayampa Butterfly Monitoring\nBecome a citizen scientist and help document Arizona’s native butterflies during Hassayampa Butterfly Monitoring at the Hassayampa River Preserve. \nPresented in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association’s Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz\, this hands-on outdoor program teaches participants how to identify native butterflies while collecting information that can help researchers understand population trends\, species richness and butterfly diversity throughout Maricopa County. \nParticipants will meet at the Nature Center before heading into the Preserve’s desert and riparian habitat. \nBring water\, a snack\, a hat\, sunscreen and closed-toed shoes. Cameras\, binoculars and butterfly identification guides are optional but encouraged. \nParticipants should be 18 or older.
