Summer in Wickenburg is here, and while the afternoons can be intense, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy town when you plan around the heat. From early-morning pickleball and golf to pool time, movie matinees, local food specials, and kid-friendly programs at Hassayampa River Preserve, here are a few ways to beat the heat in Wickenburg this summer.
Start Early with Pickleball at Dawn
Summertime in Wickenburg can be intense, with daytime temperatures regularly soaring into triple digits. Thatβs why local pickleballers have adopted a new golden hour – 5:30 to 8:00 a.m. The cooler air, soft sunrise light, and easy camaraderie make it a perfect way to start the day.
Whether youβre playing at Sunset Park, the Wickenburg Ranch Pickleball Club, or another local court, morning sessions are quickly becoming one of the townβs favorite summer social and fitness rituals.
Bring plenty of water, wear sun protection, and check local court availability or group play details before heading out. More HereΒ
Tee Off Early with Summer Golf Passes at Wickenburg Country Club
Another smart way to enjoy Wickenburg in the summer is to get out early for a round of golf before the afternoon heat settles in. Wickenburg Country Club has Summer Play Passes available now in the Golf Shop.
Passes are shareable and transferable, valid from May 15, 2026 through overseed, and good Tuesday through Sunday. Please note that 18-hole rounds may not be split into two 9-hole rounds, and passes are non-refundable after first use.
For golfers looking to keep playing through the warmer months, this is a useful summer option – especially with an early tee time, plenty of water, and a little shade-seeking strategy.
