Join Ranger Eric on Sunday, August 30, from 7:15 to 9:15 AM to learn about dragonflies and damselflies at this desert oasis. The walk will explore areas around River Ramble and Palm Lake, with the route adjusted for time and heat. Few things beat a Wickenburg sunset, and this guided evening hike gives you a front-row seat. On Thursday, August 27, Ranger Olivia will lead a Sunset Hike through Hassayampa River Preserve, with time to enjoy desert views, look for evening wildlife, and watch the sun go down from Lykes Lookout. The hike is expected to cover about 1 to 1.5 miles, beginning near Palm Lake Loop and River Ramble before heading toward the overlook. The terrain is mostly easy, with small to medium rocks underfoot and a short 90-foot elevation gain near the end. Bring closed-toe shoes, plenty of water, and a flashlight.
