Members and guests of the Wickenburg Art Club gathered Saturday, October 4th, to celebrate the opening of the latest juried exhibit, Spectacular Arizona Weather, at the Wickenburg Art Center & Gallery.
The reception brought together artists, art lovers, and community members who shared their admiration for Arizona’s most dramatic skies — from glowing desert sunsets and thunderous monsoon storms to bursts of autumn color and the crisp clarity of cooler days.
Nearly 30 pieces are featured in the show, each one a vivid interpretation of the state’s ever-changing atmosphere and landscape. Paintings, photography, and mixed media works capture the energy, color, and emotion that Arizona weather inspires — from lightning dancing across wide desert skies to soft rain over saguaros.
Attending one of Wickenburg Art Center’s infamous artist receptions offers more than just a first look at the new exhibit. It’s an opportunity to meet the artists, hear the inspiration or backstory behind their work, and even learn about the techniques they use — whether that’s brushwork on canvas, settings behind the camera, or the creative process that brings each piece to life.
Spectacular Arizona Weather is open to the public at no charge through October 25th, during regular gallery hours, Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
