Guided Bird Walk at Hassayampa River Preserve
Discover the birds of Arizona’s desert waterways during a guided morning walk through the Hassayampa River Preserve.
Join Ranger Eric to look and listen for resident and migrating bird species within the Preserve’s diverse riparian habitat. Along the way, participants will learn how to identify birds by sight and sound, explore the behaviors and ecological traits that make each species unique, and discover citizen-science resources such as eBird and iNaturalist.
The walk will cover at least one mile on trails that are mostly flat and shaded, with some uneven or sandy areas. A limited number of binoculars will be available to borrow.
Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and bring plenty of water.
Registration is required and limited to only 10 participants. Registration closes Friday, September 11. Call the Hassayampa River Preserve Visitor Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 9 to reserve a place.
