Paws & Paintbrushes Was Doggone Great!

A Sold-Out Night of Art, Laughter, and Giving Back

Last Saturday night, Wickenburg proved once again that art and animal lovers make the best kind of crowd. The sold-out Paws & Paintbrushes Benefit Dinner & Art Auction, presented by the Wickenburg Art Club and K-9 Konnection Rescue, brought together a full house of supporters at the Wickenburg Ranch Event Hall — all in the name of helping stray and surrendered dogs and supporting local arts.

Guests were treated to an unforgettable evening complete with an amazing dinner, fine art, and a healthy dose of laughter courtesy of nationally touring comedian Mike James. Between bites, chuckles, and friendly bidding wars, guests raised their paddles for stunning artwork donated by WAC members — proving that generosity (and maybe a touch of competition) runs deep in Wickenburg.

When asked about the evening, Pammela Plummer, president of the Wickenburg Art Club, said,

“The evening was perfect — the food was absolutely amazing, and the night went off without a hitch! The venue was great, and Su Small and Lisa Saines led a team of organizers that made the event unforgettable.”

noting that community support keeps growing stronger every year, Pammela also mentioned…

“pretty sure we surpassed last year’s fundraising total for the Annual Gala,”

Adding to the heartfelt moments of the night, Paul Minnich, president of K9 Konnection Rescue, shared an emotional speech thanking the community for their continued support of local rescue efforts — and gave a special shout-out to BLT Marketing & Design for creating K-9 Konnection’s brand-new website, helping their mission reach even more people (and pups) across Wickenburg.

The night wrapped up with both an art raffle and a 50/50 cash raffle, where lucky winner Donna Drake walked away with the big prize — and likely a few new best friends.

If you missed this year’s Paws & Paintbrushes Gala, you can still make a difference — visit K9KonnectionRescueAZ.org to donate or learn more about their ongoing efforts to rescue and rehome dogs in need.

And don’t forget, the Wickenburg Art Center & Gallery remains a vital part of our community’s growing and vibrant art scene.

The Wickenburg Art Club offers a variety of classes and workshops throughout the year. Most are held in the studio of the Wickenburg Art Center from 9 am to 4 pm on various days of the week.

No bones about it — this event was a howling success. Here’s to another year of wagging tails, inspired art, and a community that knows how to throw a first-class fundraiser.
