Wickenburg is heading into a busy stretch with a good mix of Western events, local theater, school spirit, community gatherings, and summer planning. If you are looking for things to do around town in the coming days and weeks, there is plenty on the calendar.
One of this weekโs most Wickenburg happenings is Wickenburg Arizona 4D Barrels at Rancho Rio on Thursday, April 23. The 4D Jackpot starts at 12 noon, with books opening at 8:30 a.m. The event is cash only and enter on-site, with a $45 entry fee plus a $15 arena fee per horse. The flyer also notes a Queen of Hearts 4D Sidepot and morning 10โs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Rancho Rio always brings a strong local crowd, and this one fits Wickenburg perfectly.
Art lovers also have two strong reasons to get out and explore Wickenburg right now. Cowgirl Up! at Sigler Western Museum continues to celebrate the spirit, talent, and perspective of women in Western art, while Wild Things at Wickenburg Art Center & Gallery offers another local stop for visitors who want to take in current exhibits and support the arts scene in town. Together, they add even more variety to the coming weeks, especially for anyone looking for something beyond sports, rodeo, and community events.
Looking just a few days ahead, Wickenburg will celebrate Arbor Day with the Roots of Freedom Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Giveaway on Wednesday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coffinger Park. The event includes a free tree giveaway for Wickenburg residents, a ceremonial tree planting, and free hot dogs, chips, and cookies. Residents are encouraged to arrive at 11 a.m. to receive a raffle ticket for the tree giveaway.
As the calendar turns to May, another solid local outing is set for May 2 when Old West Shows return to Vulture City Ghost Town. It is the kind of event that blends Arizona history, Western atmosphere, and a memorable setting just outside Wickenburg. For locals and visitors alike, Vulture City remains one of the areaโs most distinctive attractions.
Community support is also on the calendar in May. K9 Konnection will host its Fur a Good Paws Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Elks Lodge No. 2160, 123 Frontier Street in Wickenburg. The breakfast buffet is $15 per person, open to the public, and will help support the organizationโs Community Health and Wellness Program. The menu includes scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, hash browns, juice, coffee, and mini donuts, plus a free raffle.

Families can also start planning ahead for summer now. Registration is open for the Wickenburg Wahoos Swim Team, StarFish Swim Lessons, StarBabies/StarTots Swim Lessons, and Explorerโs Summer Camp. And for one of the easiest dates to circle on the calendar, the Town of Wickenburg Pool is set to open on Monday, May 25, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission on opening day.
